I first met Simon when he was straight out of University in 1998. We became great friends.
Simon was on my first proper trip in my first cruising boat ‘Rosie J’. A long beat down the Essex coast from The Deben to The Blackwater with his step father Rufus Plummer.
He then spent week end after week end in the summer of 1998 with my daughter Hannah and me just introducing us to the ways of the sea. He already had several trans Atlantic crossings under his belt and a childhood of sailing the east coast.
An extremely experienced sailor in all conditions. Simon recently added a Sydney Hobart to his sailing CV.
Simon has just completed another trans Atlantic in late 2016.
